a5c7b9f00b A volcano erupts in downtown Los Angeles, threatening to destroy the city. In the city of Los Angeles, it is nice quiet and routine. Until an earthquake occurred. The director of the city's emergency management, Michael Roark believes that something big is about to happen, so he finds a geologist named Amy Barnes to help him investigate. What they will realize that the earthquake is a sign of a volcano forming in the city. The volcano formed at the La Brea Tarpits. Now Roark has to use every resource in the city to stop the volcano from consuming Los Angeles. When i first saw 'Volcano', I tell my father 'This is better than Dante's Peak.. a little bit.' And guess what he said 'You are right, son'. 9/10 for Mr. Jones, 8/10 for my lady Mrs. Heche, And Mr. Jackson, for you is 8,5/10. Ohh… by the way Mr.Jacson, can you just remake the Pompei tragedy. Let them know…. Volcano doesn't take itself seriously and neither should you - just have fun! Don Cheadle and Tommy Lee Jones have great chemistry together. The movie takes an interesting premise and has fun with it. Good special effects, good humor, and mostly good acting add up to an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. The only part that rings false is the perhaps romantic interest between Anne Heche and Tommy Lee Jones - ignore that part and you're all good.

I think this one came out at the same time as Dante's Peak and Volcano beats it hands down. How can you go wrong with a movie with the tag line "the Coast is Toast"? With its fake-looking technology and empty characters, Volcano eventually becomes as obvious as its what-if premise.
